Covid-19 has and continues to totally disrupt the food service industry. Gigs is a very new concept for many small businesses and during this time, we have found an overwhelming amount of businesses do not need to quickly fill shifts with people they don’t know, what they need are experienced professionals that they can connect with directly to fill open positions consistently. While there may be a time where gig work has a place in the market, for the time being the overwhelming majority of businesses are looking for full time employees and Pared needed to change along with the market. There are a lot of reasons that went into the decision, the biggest being the result that COVID-19 had on the industry. More businesses are looking for longer term help vs on a per gig basis.
